So Discord have reportedly ended their working relationship with their intended third-party provider for ID/age verification, Persona, after they suffered a hack and personal details from Discord user accounts who went through with the scheme recklessly, got leaked online for a second time.
As a consequence, Discord have put their plans for global verification on hold for now, leaving users who haven't left already, alone and return to a sense of normality.
So I will not be going through with deleting my presence there as originally planned on March 1st, but we'll see what happens going forward (because remaining complicit in using their services even after they knowingly violated consumer privacy & trust twice now, only serves to demonstrate to Discord employees, that they can get away with a lot of things).
Fully prepared to act and leave Discord immediately if they inevitably try this again with another ID verification provider, but with that said, I'll continue trying to be more proactive on Newgrounds as well (so the transition will be much less jarring when the time comes).
